One of the world’s greatest road trips, the Garden Route is something I strongly recommend that you try and fit into any South Africa itinerary. It can be a little overwhelming to plan as there is SO much to do here and countless tweaks you can make to suit your preferences and style of travel. Having done this trip twice myself now and learnt lots from it, I have finally put together my recommended 5 day Garden Route itinerary, with lots of variations to customise to your preferences.View Post
I don’t know about you, but I find buying gifts for men a bit of a nightmare. I have resorted to keeping a running list whenever I stumble upon something that fits the bill, so that when the inevitable time comes that I need something quickly, I’m not drawing a total blank. This is my round up of the best luxury travel gifts for him; save this list for any last minute gift giving requirements!View Post
I love virtually everywhere I travel, yet despite this, I rarely return to the same place in favour of exploring somewhere new. South Africa is one (actually, if you don’t count visiting family abroad, the only) place that has managed to buck that trend. It is one of those destinations I will bang on endlessly about and if you ask we where to visit (it’s a pretty big country), I will more than likely tell you the Garden Route. Wilderness is one of the towns along this beautiful stretch of coastline that I highly recommend a day trip to and I have rounded up some of the best places to eat and things to do in Wilderness here.View Post
Driving the Garden Route is arguably one of the world’s best road trips. It takes you on a 300km journey along the spectacular South African coastline with everything from lagoons, mountain passes, forests and of course, those infamous beaches. As this route’s unofficial “capital,” Knysna is almost a compulsory stop during your time here, whether you are looking for somewhere to base yourself while you explore this beautiful part of the world, or are just passing through. There are endless things to do in Knysna and the surrounding area, something I can personally attest to having recently spent three weeks on my latest trip there and having been busy exploring almost every single day!View Post
Last year, I wrote a post on luxury travel trends for 2020, an article that turned out to be one of the most popular I have ever written. As a travel lover, I like to keep on top of what is going on in the industry; what countries are doing something a bit different, how people are travelling, what exciting new hotels are opening and the general future of travel.
Well, we have all been thrown (no matter from where in the world you are reading this) one massive curveball and I didn’t for one minute expect to have spent the last four months barely leaving the house. Consequently, rather than contemplating where I will travel next, it’s when, how and whether I’ll be even able to.
However, as a habitual planner and with the restrictions starting to ease in many places around the globe, the time has come where I can start to take to the road/skies/beach again and I, like many others, am trying to work out how I will be adapting my travel to the current situation.View Post
