Welcome to Champagne on Arrival!

Champagne on Arrival is a luxury travel and lifestyle blog with a view of providing travel inspiration and advice. My aim is really simple, travel to some amazing places, do incredible things and eat some awesome food, but also show others how to book these experiences as cost effectively as possible. I love luxury, but I love getting a good deal on that luxury just as much, if not more.

I was born in Nottingham, grew up in Somerset and now live in Leicester. Travel has always been the aim of the game for me and I have been lucky in that it has always been a part of my life; I have a very close extended family that regularly love to get together and visit amazing places, some of whom live in New York who I go to visit almost every year. My plan was always to work in a job either in travel or something that allowed me to travel; I worked as nanny during my year out between school and university in both New York and Belgium before starting my degree in International Business Administration. I spent a semester studying in Madrid as well as continuing work as a temporary nanny during the holidays both abroad and for international families visiting the UK. I have worked in logistics and supply chain since graduating, with most roles that I have done involving travel within Europe and the Far East. I’ve loved every minute of it and it has only made my travel plans grow.

I met my husband Danny in 2012 and we now conduct a rather complex annual leave strategy to maximise our travel time. Fortunately, I love the planning of travel almost as much as the trip itself, which usually entails a Lonely Planet, a spreadsheet with lots of tabs and a large amount of googling and travel blog reading. Nothing makes me feel more excited than when I set off on an adventure with a carefully researched itinerary!

Over the last few years, my travel adventures and endless research has resulted in my family and friends asking me for advice and even designing and booking trips for them. As an organiser at heart, I love the idea of structuring all of this information, writing about my travel experiences and providing inspiration and advice for everyone, which is where the idea for Champagne on Arrival was born. My travel style is definitely on the luxury side, however I love to find ways of doing so cost effectively so I can travel as much as possible!

I hope you enjoy the blog and if you have any questions or would like to get in touch, please email me at champagneonarrival@hotmail.com, I would love to hear from you!
